History of Edwards Glass Company Limited

Edwards Glass Company believes that its business is built on personal ethics, integrity, expertise and professionalism.  We are committed to dealing with our customers fairly, honestly and in good faith.

One of London's oldest established businesses, Edwards Glass Company Limited has been producing beautiful stained glass work for over eighty-five years.  In that time a lot has changed, and yet a lot has stayed the same.

The founder, R.J. (Bob) Edwards, newly returned from World War I, began making his stained glass back in 1920 in a studio at the corner of Ridout and York.  In 1922 his brother Sam joined him to form the company then known as Edwards Brothers Glass Company.  They ran the business as a team until 1945, the year their sons Gordon and Arthur joined in the family livelihood.

Edwards Glass was located for many years at 545 Richmond Street nestled in behind the fashionable boutiques of Richmond Row and it was there that an enviable reputation for fine stained glass was created.  That tradition of excellence has been carried on to the present location at 471 Newbold Street, London, where we are able to offer a complete range of glass services while remaining dedicated to the preservation of the Edwards’ stained glass heritage, a dedication to quality and craftsmanship that is as strong today as it was in 1920.
